Where Is Your Heart?

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Luke 12:34, NIV) We often view our work as just a place to earn money so we can pay our bills. Many of us dislike our jobs and wish we could do something else – something more challenging, or even something more interesting. In some cases, we dislike our jobs so much we quit what we’re doing and go to work somewhere else only to find that we are just as dissatisfied at our new place of employment! The grass never seems to be any “greener” on the other side. Perhaps our hearts are in the wrong place. We need to understand that God has placed us exactly where He wants us to be in order to do His work! He’s in the business of relationships! Once we understand that our hearts are designed to spread God’s love, our treasure will be in Him and in our relationships, not in our jobs or in the money we receive as compensation! That doesn’t mean we should never try to better ourselves – it simply means that our lives will be much better once we refocus on our Treasure! Enjoy your Monday, “Working for Christ”!
