No Room For Discrimination!

Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, ‘Here’s a good seat for you,’ but say to the poor man, ‘You stand there’ or ‘Sit on the floor by my feet,’ have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?” (James 2:2-4, NIV)

We have a tendency to treat people differently because of the way they look, dress, speak, or act. We also tend to treat people differently because of their occupations. We may feel that a doctor or lawyer deserves more respect than a custodian or maid. Nothing could be further from the truth! God has placed each one of us exactly where He wants us to do His work while we are here on earth! Each of us has our own God-given talents that make us who we are. We all deserve respect! We all have the same purpose in this life – to get as close to Christ as we can and to bring as many people along with us as possible! There simply isn’t any room for discrimination!
