God Created Us To Praise Him!

“ … be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:18-20, NIV)

That sounds easy, doesn’t it? It is, until someone cuts you off in traffic, or steals your ideas at work, or gets a promotion ahead of you. When these things happen, how are we supposed to praise God or give Him thanks? I’ll admit it is extremely difficult if the Holy Spirit is not present in our lives. But, as our relationship with Christ develops, the Holy Spirit begins to fill the voids in our hearts, and our understanding and tolerance of the world grows stronger. When we are finally “filled” with the Holy Spirit our attitudes are changed, our voices are transformed, and we see the “good” instead of the “bad” in the situations around us.

God created us to praise Him! He wants us to use our voices to expand His kingdom – to bring others into a close, loving relationship with Him! Nothing evil should ever come out of our mouths. Our hearts should be filled with the Holy Spirit and we should give thanks always for everything! Enjoy your Tuesday, “Working for Christ”!
