Does The Lord Look On You With Favor?

“These are the ones I look on with favor [declares the Lord]: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.” (Isaiah 66:2, NIV)

To be humble is to be modest, lowly, meek, or unpretentious. When we are humble, we place others before ourselves. We serve them and accept them for who they are rather than for who we want them to be.

To be contrite in spirit is to be repentant, remorseful, or apologetic. We understand that we are human and make mistakes. But, when we falter we ask for forgiveness and make every effort to keep from making those same mistakes over and over again.

And, finally, to tremble means to shake, shudder, or quiver. Those who tremble at God’s Word have the utmost respect for its teaching. They understand right from wrong, and are fully aware of the consequences for living a life that does not coincide with God’s desires!

Does God look on you with favor? Are you unpretentious in the way you treat others, remorseful when you make mistakes, and respectful of God’s Word? Think about these things today as you go about your business. Nothing you can do will be more important than developing a closer relationship with our Father! Enjoy your Tuesday, “Working for Christ”!
