Be Of One Heart And Mind!

“All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.” (Acts 4:32-35, NIV)

That’s the way the early Christians lived. They lived at peace with one another, they shared everything they owned, and they believed in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. They understood that God’s grace filled every one of their needs. They worked together, as a single unit, to the glory of our Savior.

Now take a look around you – what has happened to this world? The majority of people living in this country claim to be Christians, yet our society is filled with hatred, greed, corruption, and disrespect. We can no longer find God in our schools, government functions, or on our playgrounds. It is more important to be “politically correct” than to stand up for the values that Christ Jesus stood for.

Something has got to change! That change needs to begin with you and me. We need to get Christ back into our lives and share His love with one another. We need to get back to the time when “all the believers were one in heart and mind”! It’s going to take a lot of work, but with the help of the Holy Spirit, we will succeed. Enjoy your Friday, “Working for Christ”!
