LET THE CONVERSATION BEGIN!

“For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him.” (Colossians 1:16, NIV)

God made everything in creation. Everything in the world, everything in your life – it’s all His.

Many of us are confused. We want God to jump down out of the clouds, stand before us, and tell us exactly what He wants us to do for Him while we are here on earth. We want Him to be specific. We want Him to speak to us with a human voice so there is no doubt about what our mission should be. And, for some strange reason, we most often feel like He wants us to do something within our church such as evangelism, or maybe join the church staff, or perhaps go on a mission trip. There’s nothing wrong with any of these things.

We may never stop to consider the fact that God has already placed us in our mission field. He has already spoken to us using human voices. He uses the authors of the bible to speak to us. Paul wrote to the Christians living in the city of Corinth, “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (I Corinthians 10:31, NIV) That’s not the “Word of Paul” – it’s the Word of God! He wants us to make sure that there is no division in our lives between our relationship with God and what we do on a daily basis.

God created all of life; all of life is spiritual. We spend more time working than we do in any other activity. Our work is a divine mission for God! There’s no need to wait around for God to jump out of the clouds and speak to you. Simply open up your bible and let the conversation begin!
