About “Working for Christ”

If you are like most people, you spend more time at work than you do at home or in church. Most of us work forty hours per week and, if we’re lucky, we get to take the weekends off. Keeping God first can be extremely difficult. In many cases, our work life takes the spirituality right out of us and leaves us feeling completely empty. We often feel that there is nothing left to give when the weekend finally does arrive. An hour at church just doesn’t seem to be enough to get rejuvenated before the next work week.

At “Working for Christ”, we want to help. We have designed this site to offer you some of the biblical tools necessary to help you take Christ to work with you, to speak to your customers, co-workers, and suppliers using His voice, to treat others in the workplace according to His grace, and to allow His perfect order to permeate the atmosphere that each of us must enter on Monday morning at 8:00 a. m.

Our jobs aren’t just places for us to go to work! Each of us has been placed where we are by our Heavenly Father who knows exactly what He is doing! You have been called to His mission field – not in Africa, or Haiti, or in Central America – but right here, right now, where you work!

Take a few minutes to review the tools available on this site. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you succeed in honoring Christ in your workplace.

Thank you for reminding your readers that each person’s has a ministry right where He has called them to work and serve. As a stay-at-home homeschooling mom for 17 years, I often needed to remind myself that the ministry God had for me at that time was to primarily to my kids, although I found other ways and opportunities to serve as well. There shouldn’t be a dichotomy between a Christian’s spiritual life and secular life because we should be living for Christ 24-7, wherever we are!

So, I just recently ran across these as I was trying to find some sort of devotional book for the workplace. I really liked what I read and thought these would be a great start for our leadership team each day. Can I print these and share these or do I need some sort of special permission? Or does anyone have ideas on a short devotional book that might be good for that setting?

  26. Dear “Working for Christ”,

I read your blog just about every day… I write my own blog every other day or so, (Use to be 7 days a week for over 3 years), and would like permission to copy and paste your blog into my daily email; and to “Gods group” on FB, and to Godsmanforever.wordpress.com and all the links with-in…

I will credit your web site, and post written by your name, or any other name you would like me to use, at the top…

The idea is to feed God’s flock and unbelievers with the best writing I can find, and your writing is very moving to me…

    Let me know…

    Blessings in Christ bruce

  29. This is a comment I am giving to ALL the past WP Blogs I used to follow and the links I used to post because of your site. I am the Pastor of Oasis Bible Ministry and I have been away from WordPress for about a year to 14 months. Due to health and computer problems both, I had to quit for a while, but the Lord has been speaking to my heart to get back and do what HE asked me to do. So, I am in the process of doing a new blog, “For the Love of God” under the outreach of Oasis Bible Ministry.

I am sorry for not being able to let anyone know until now, but I do apologize as so many of you had visited and of course, through that, the Holy Spirit led me to your sites. One of the reasons, I am writing a letter as a form for all, is because I am going through the links I have from before and with your permission, posting them on my blog on a links page. Some of you may already be in the “Blogs I Follow” section, but since it only holds 50 and I like so many more, I thought it is only fitting to make a separate page for the rest of the blogs I like.

I believe in Body Ministry and gifts that the Holy Spirit equips everybody who calls Christ Jesus Lord, and therefore, it is only fitting to let others see what the Holy Spirit is doing in other areas of His Church. Please believe me; this is NOT an attempt to draw anyone back. That is between the person and the Lord. He called me to do what I do as He called each of you. I just have to do what He says, it is up to Him to draw people to His Word as He gifts me.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience of those who followed me and then ended up with a “blank gravatar” for I do sincerely apologize. But, I do sincerely pray God’s richest blessings on each of you AND if per chance, you do NOT want me to post your link, I will remove it per your wishes. Again, thanks AND again, God bless you!
